The North Bay premiere of the hilarious musical comedy, "lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" came to Napa October 11-20, 2013, presented on the Main Stage of the Napa Valley Opera House. The production originated at 6th Street Playhouse in Santa Rosa and ran there August 23-September 22 before traveling to Napa, in association with Lucky Penny Productions.
"Monty Python's Spamalot" tells the tale of King Arthur (Lucky Penny's Barry Martin) and his Knights of the Round Table, and features the ravishing Lady of the Lake (Lucky Penny's Taylor Bartolucci) a bevy of beautiful showgirls, cows, killer rabbits and French people.
Featuring music by John Du Prez, Eric Idle and Neil Innes; Book and Lyrics by Eric Idle.
The original 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, ran more than 1,500 performances, and was seen by more than 2 million people.
