Karen provides a unique balance of business, personnel, venue, and theater production management experience, garnered over 40 years. She previously served at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, Santa Rosa as coordinator for Business Partnerships, Contracts, and Facility Rentals. While there she participated in the "Page to Stage" Literacy program, was liaison with the Resident Theater Companies and served as a Teaching Artist in Performance Arts with local elementary schools. She has directed youth and adult theater productions, classes, and camps and was instrumental in a grass roots effort as co-founder of a community theater for the City of San Ramon, "Front Row Theater." Karen holds a BA degree from Fresno State University in Theater Arts and Communications, studied with A.C.T., and received accreditation in the John F. Kennedy Center Teaching Artist Training program. She is an actress and since coming to this area has performed for Lucky Penny Productions, Sonoma Arts Live, Spreckels Theater Company and 6th Street Playhouse earning her accolades and awards in several roles. Her passion is to provide a performance arts arena for all to participate and attain confidence, empowerment, and positive life skills. 

Scottie WoodardSCOTTIE WOODARD, N.A.P.A. Artistic Director

Scottie brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion for teaching youth and adults in the performance arts. Scottie is an esteemed professional in the industry and has been teaching theatre and dance since 1999, starting at his dance studio in Colorado Springs with his mentor and friend, Betsy McClenahan. He has continued teaching ever since and has had some exciting and unique experiences including: teaching in China at Shanghai Children's Art Theatre; being trained by the Disney Theatrical Group; several years as a Teaching Artist for Bay Area Children’s Theater. He is also an award winning actor, choreographer, and director working with numerous theater companies including Center Repertory Theatre, 42nd Street Moon, Woodland Opera House, Berkeley Playhouse, 6th Street Playhouse, Missouri Street Theatre, and Sacramento Theater Company. For Lucky Penny Productions, Scottie has directed a youth production of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", choreographed and performed in "The Andrews Brothers" and "Forever Plaid", and has also performed in "Bonnie and Clyde", "The Secret Garden", "Scrooge in Love!", "The Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical" and more.
