UPCOMING AUDITIONS
LOCAL THEATER COMPANIES ANNOUNCE GENERAL AUDITIONS
Four well-known North Bay production companies are holding general auditions on August 1 and 2 at the Bay Terrace Theater, 51 Daniels at Wilson in Vallejo. Dreamweavers Troupe and Lucky Penny Productions of Napa, Benicia’s Old Town Theatre Group, and Vallejo’s Mira Theatre Guild have joined forces to attract performers from all over the Bay Area for their upcoming seasons. Auditions will be August 1 from 2PM to 6PM and August 2 from 6PM to 10PM. Appointments will be accepted but walk-ins are welcome. Actors of all ages are needed for productions to be held from October 2010 through December 2011 including Private Eyes, The Diary of Anne Frank, A Nice Family Gathering, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Lost in Yonkers, Compared to What? (world premiere), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The 39 Steps, Run for Your Wife, The Murder Game, ‘Night Mother, Snowing at Delphi, 84 Charing Cross Road, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
Actors may present monologues or use selected readings from the scheduled shows. Résumés and photos helpful but not required. Directors include Harry Diavatis, June Alane Reif, Barry Martin, Mónica Tipton, David Logan Morrow, Clinton Vidal, Debbie Baumann, Anthony de Paolo, Jeff Lowe, Robert Silva and Taylor Bartolucci.
All four companies have roots in the North Bay, some dating back to the 1940’s. This will be Mira Theatre Guild’s 65th season. Benicia Old Town Theatre Group is in its 46th season, and Dreamweavers Troupe will present its 25th year of entertainment in the Napa Valley. Lucky Penny, the newest of the companies enjoyed great success in its first two seasons and is looking forward to more of the same in its third.
